The Youth Suicide Prevention Task Force was created in 2004. There are representatives from schools, medical, youth-serving agencies, faith community, mental health, parent survivor, and other community service providers. The task force recently expanded beyond youth to suicide awareness and prevention for the general community. An Out of the Darkness Community Walk was held on April 17, 2010 in cooperation with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Substance abuse prevention
Implemented a fall suicide awareness campaign in 2008 and will continue to work on community awareness throughout the year. Through the Student Assistance Program, conduct a summer suicide support group for youth who have lost a loved one due to suicide.
